Who Guides Your Learning

Teaching mentorship designed for real results

Nice to meet you, I am Prof. Rosa Esther

With a degree in Portuguese Language and Literature from UFPA, I bring academic experience as an active teacher in the Celpe-Bras preparatory program at PEPLE (Portuguese as a Foreign Language), as well as experience in several preparatory courses.

Beyond conventional teaching, I am an advanced Libras signer with technical training in Translation, and I work as an interpreter. That is why I do pioneering work teaching written Portuguese as a second language (L2) to Deaf students and provide qualified interpreting services, promoting true pedagogical inclusion.

Academic strengths:

  • Personalized lessons and support with Libras mediation for Deaf students.
  • Teaching materials focused on developing Portuguese as a second language (L2).
  • Objective, technical approach to writing for public-service and traditional university entrance exams.
  • Specialized consulting in linguistic accessibility and translation.

Original draft (with errors)

passage with an error: Fazem muitos anos que a população passage with an error: vêm sofrendo com a falta de saneamento básico, o qual causa muitos problemas de saúde pública.

Polished, correct version

correction: Faz muitos anos que a população correction: vem sofrendo com a falta de saneamento básico, o que causa muitos problemas de saúde pública.

Grammar rules analysis

The verb “fazer” meaning elapsed time is impersonal, so it always stays in the 3rd person singular (“faz”, not “fazem”). Also, the subject of “vem” is “a população” (singular), so the verb takes no circumflex accent (which is reserved for the plural “vêm”).

Rosa’s tip:

Remember: elapsed time and weather phenomena have no subject, so the verb stays singular!
